Today’s Treasures

Thanks to Carol from “Today’s Treasures” for writing this blog article…

I have always been a painter and regularly exhibit my work in local galleries and competitions and even on my stall – to see a sample of my work please visit

In addition, for as long as I can remember, I have also enjoyed sewing, making and creating “things”… from decorated denim jackets to unusual, quirky lampshades and mirror frames.  Being very much a magpie I also have quite a collection of notions, appliqués, buttons, general decorative bits & pieces, odds & ends… Put all these factors together and it has culminated in “Today’s Treasures”.

At Gifts you can see a few of my recent creations.  They are all original and handmade.  Small but beautiful custom made portraits painted from photographs; brooches & key fobs; gorgeous hand painted & decorated papier-mache boxes; small framed novelty pictures incorporating a variety of materials from near & far; greetings cards plus hand-painted wooden affirmative words.  My latest project will be to offer a custom made service of your choice of wooden words & names, painted in my distinctive style.

I look forward to meeting you at the next Made With Love market and helping you to choose that special gift for that special someone… maybe for yourself?

Blossums & Gumnuts

Thanks to Lisa from Blossums & Gumnuts for this blog post
Gai, the talented artist behind Blossoms & Gumnuts, lives on the beautiful mid north coast of NSW at Bonville, and hand knits incredibly gorgeous toddler & kids scarves and matching hats, along with bespoke scarves for tweens and ladies.
All are unbelievably soft, so no prickles, and have little extras included on every set, such as tiny stuffed toys, fairies, finger puppets and cute buttons. Quite a few have an Australiana theme and therefore are perfect gifts for friends and family overseas.
Please stop by her stall at the Made With Love Markets and say hi, where you will see for yourself the quality and incredible designs created by Gai.

Swift and Swallow HomeCrafts

Thanks to Zaiga from Swift & Swallow HomeCrafts for writing this blog:

We started Swift & Swallow HomeCrafts at the end of 2012 when we realised that we both had a passion for creating from gorgeous fabrics and were both looking to make it more than just a hobby, and so an idea turned into a reality.

We make a range of cushions and you will see a strong nature and coastal influence in our work, wherever possible we use natural materials and our cushion inserts are recycled PET bottles.

We have started adding notebooks and greeting cards to our repertoire and are always looking for new creative ideas.

April loves sewing and has been making patchwork quilts as a hobby for a while now.

She is  creating a range of applique cushions with different fun costal themes, and can also do personalised cushions and framed work of people or pets from a photo, these make a fun gift idea for a special occasion like a wedding or birthday.

Originally from Melbourne she lived in Europe for many years before returning to Australia to live in Bucca with her family.

(Zaiga) I am the other half of Swift & Swallow HomeCrafts and April’s Neighbour and good friend.

I have a love of vintage designs and material and an obsession with home interior magazines which I get inspiration from for both my crafts and our home renovation.

I also enjoy card making and have designed a range of quirky tags for use around the home.
