Richard Moon Wearable Silver & Silverware
From his studio at Deepwater in the NSW New England region, Richard Moon creates his unique sterling-silver and copper artisan jewellery and flatware, sourcing design inspiration and materials from a love of all things retro, recycled and re-purposed.
Wherever possible, all his work is created using sustainable and recycled materials and techniques. From the silver to the processes, Richard’s work leaves a tiny footprint on the environment.
“Everything I make is different. I don’t have a particular style and I sometimes create lines of jewellery. Inspiration can come on the spur of the moment or evolve over weeks,” Richard says. “The finished result is not always exactly as the idea began, but nothing goes up on my site or onto my market stall until I am happy with it as a very special piece.”
Queensland opals, New England sapphires, pearls and other semi-precious stones are incorporated into Richard’s wearable art. Richard also offers one-day silversmithing workshops at his Deepwater studio. Co-create a special piece under his guidance.
